It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr Eric Webb. Eric passed away after a short illness on Tuesday the 3rd of December 2019.
Eric, 87, the stepson of company founder Ted McKee and the father of current Managing Director, Kevin Webb, joined the company in 1964.
Eric worked alongside Ted’s son-in-law Allan McMillan and good friend Malcolm Clyma for many years building the Spring Gully Pickles brand.
Eric held numerous positions within Spring Gully, taking on the role of Chairman, a position he held until he stood down in 2018, although he retained his position on the Board.
He was also a charter member of the Rotary Club of Campbelltown and remained an active participant until his passing.
Spring Gully’s current Chairman, said Eric would be remembered as an outstanding contributor to the culture, values and success of Spring Gully Foods in his various roles as employee, manager, director and ultimately as Chairman of Spring Gully until 2018.
“Spring Gully would not have survived to what is now a 4th generation family business without Eric’s unwavering commitment to Spring Gully, its employees, suppliers, customers and his family,” he said.
Eric was a great mentor to all members of the Spring Gully family and has left a legacy and culture that would serve Spring Gully well into future generations.
Eric is survived by his sons Kevin and Ross, their wives Annette and Janet, and his four grandchildren Russell, Tegan, Jessica and Anne-Maree
